Respect Mom!

Przede wszystkim pieluchy tetrowe!!! No i te pralki i proszki...lol
Trzecia sprawa to pomoc tatusia. Tata wychodził do pracy rano i wracał późnym popołudniem na gotowe - jedzenie ugotowane, dzieci czyste, najedzone, a dom posprzątany i oprany itp.
A brak bajek w telewizji?

P.S. Szacunek dla wszystkich naszych mam, można powiedzieć "fighterek" (wojowniczek :)

Motherhood is not a piece of cake. And not so long ago, nobody really wanted to talk about its bad sides, only the good ones. Showing the real picture of motherhood wasn't socially appoved, or maybe, women just didn't know they could talk about it out loud. That's what it used to be...
Now, there are tons of articles and posts about it on the internet. Motherhood has been striped of the sweet icing which was very often covered with. It's very refreshing and it's great it all happened, though there's this one thought that comes to my mind when I think of it - our moms' generation.
Imagine life 30 or so years ago... Despite the fact that life wasn't as fast as it is now, our moms had to live without many things we don't even think we might do without.
First of all, muslin square diapers!!! Ough, this must have been a NIGHTMARE! Every evening, after a whole day of hard work, our moms had to soak, boil, wash, dry, iron about 40 diapers (my mom told me!). Can you imagine such evenings? Leaving the evening aside, what about daytime and changing the diapers and clothes like 150 times a day!!!! And those washing machines and the washing powders...lol.
Second of all, cooking! No ready made 'jars', no help, not even one day without cooking. I know it had its advantages, the homemade food was healthy, without all those chemical additions which now we can find even in food for babies. It's just the fact that women didn't have any choice, they had to cook every single day, period.
The third thing is the daddy's help. Well, enough said, men have gone through a major makeover and started to take active part in raising the kids, cooking, etc. In the past? Hahah, it was mom's chore to take care of the house and kids, very often professional work too. And dad went out for work in the morning and came back in the late afternoon when everything was ready - food, kids clean and full, and the house cleaned and washed, etc. Luckily, it's changed and men very often take active part in the family life. They take part in the life of their kids from the day they are born, more willingly than the generation of our fathers (they are present when their children are born!). Of course, the woman's still the head of it, but she has some back up ;)
What about no cartoons on tv? It had some pros, but let's be honest, sometimes a cartoon is a godsend! I'm not a fan of children watching tv all day long. However, there are moments, when we don't have a choice, a cartoon is good for the kid and the mom!
Times were calm and there were things which now we long for, but we need to face the fact that now it's way easier. And at moments when I feel miserable and think I'm a bad mom and housewife (!), I try to imagine how it would be to go back and be a mom in the past, and that thought keeps me straight and clear right away! We can always get to complain how it's hard to be a mom, but let's face it, our moms could say it, not us! :))

P.S. Respect to all our moms - we might call'em fighters! :)
